Silver lightning bolt pendant is Navajo handmade by Sam Gray. Lightning bolt design is hand-carved using the overlay process. The background silver is textured and oxidized and the silver is polished to a shine.

How was it made? Handmade Native American silver pendant was handmade using the overlay technique. Navajo silversmith Sam Gray uses heavy gauge sterling silver so the designs are prominent and the reliefs are deep. The designs are hand-cut using a jeweler's saw. The remaining sheet of silver, or negative design, is then soldered to the bottom sheet. Lightning bolt pendant background is textured and oxidized and the silver is polished to a high shine. Oxidation is burned onto the silver and will not chip, fade, or peel.
