Darrell Bedoni learned to make traditional love flutes from John Rainer, the Taos Pueblo native and celebrated flute player, while studying music at Brigham Young University in 1979. He has been designing and crafting Contemporary Love Flutes and Medicine Man Whistles in 1984. The distinguishing characteristic of Darrell’s flutes is a direct air flow, thus eliminating the need for the tuning block found on most native flutes. Flutes are used for ceremonial, religious and meditative purposes. Medicine Man Whistle – fashioned after and honoring the Navajo ceremonial Medicine Man Whistle. They are the easiest to play.
