Our collection of Zuni earrings are made of sterling silver and genuine turquoise, coral, mother of pearl, jet, spiney oyster shell, lapis and other semi-precious gemstones. Zuni Indian jewelry is made on the Zuni Pueblo in northwestern New Mexico. Zuni jewelry is what artists of the Zuni Pueblo are most known for, however there are also extremely talented fetish carvers, kachina carvers, and potters. Most Zuni Indian jewelry is created by building the silver first and then cutting the stones and shells to fit versus the Navajo Indian jewelry which is typically built around the stone. Of course this is a rather vague generalization, but I think it is fair to say that when observing the differences between Navajo Indian Jewelry and Zuni Indian Jewelry, one could say that Zuni silversmiths are known more for their stone cutting than they are for their ornate silver work. Zuni earrings are some of the most beautiful, intricate and delicate earrings.
